How GL and a BOP work together

General liability covers third-party bodily injury, property damage and, for most classes, personal and advertising injury. Per-occurrence limits are $300K, $500K, $1M or $2M, with aggregates at twice that, and the policy includes medical payments and damage to rented premises. A BOP can protect office property, and contractor tool coverage can be added at higher limits. Many owners pick the BOP because property and business income come bundled with the liability protection.

Appetite and eligibility

Contractor eligibility is capped at $5M in revenue and 15 employees. General contractors, paper contractors, firms with subcontractor costs over half of revenue, equipment rental to others, and exterior work above three stories are outside the appetite.
